The definition of Wisdom by Webster is; Having the power to judge rightly and follow the soundest course of action based on knowledge, experience, understanding and good judgement; an insightful understanding of what is true, right and enduring. The definition itself implies the 6th sense in all of this and it truly is.
Wisdom isn’t something we can suddenly acquire. It isn’t something that can be attributed to any particular group of individuals or associations. It is nurtured by practice. It stems from one’s true desires to make sense of the acquired information and to link it to an intrinsic Truth. A quote from Alpha to Omega – Journey to the End of Time is, that “Wisdom is the uncanny ability to recognize Truth without proof.”
Here’s a simple example of how our wisdom works. Let’s suppose we want to be on time for an eight o’clock movie. Let’s also suppose that, for some reason, the clock in our house was one hour slow and we weren’t aware of it. We would fail to achieve our objective because we did not know the truth. We certainly believed that we knew, but we were wrong and therefore had to suffer the consequences.
Let’s also suppose that, under the same circumstances, we didn’t believe the clock was correct because we had a hunch that something wasn’t right. We willingly accepted the insight and chose to reject the presumed truth and look for clues to verify our hunch. After a bit of searching we found that our intuition was right and the clock was wrong. More importantly, we saved ourselves from an unfortunate consequence by recognizing the Truth within.
The answers to Everything reside in the core of everyone’s existence. It is the storehouse of All Knowledge and, in order to really tap into it, we must recognize the Truths that are intrinsic in Nature. This doesn’t happen overnight, but a prioritized willingness to discover can be an exciting journey. Only then can we truly begin to pluck the Truth from the sea of overwhelming information.
